Located in Bresica, Italy, MPR is a well-known partner to both end customers and machine makers. Together, HERCO and MPR will deliver complete die casting trim solutions for trim dies and standard trim presses, as well as custom trimming and machining.

We are seeking a high-caliber engineer to join our talented design team and deliver performance enhancing control system through the innovative application of the most current technology.

Job Description

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of design and implementation of a wide range of controls projects
  • Deliver a finished bill of material, electrical design schematics, installation scope of work documents and completed PLC and HMI programs
  • Responsible for all technical communication with customers, vendors, and internal team managing or supervising installation and final startup and project commissioning in the field
  • Manage the direction and movement of service technicians
  • Write programs in the above mentioned controllers – develop new programs from concept and/or upgrade old controllers to the most current technology
  • Maintain master backups for all machine programs and electrical drawings
  • Develop programming and provide support for PLCs, robots and operator interfaces to maximize both quality and production
  • Pursue new technology and efficiencies in controls applications, operability and platform designs
  • Recommend the electrical spare parts inventory for all new and existing production equipment to ensure maximum machine utilization
  • Help current and future customers diagnose and resolve causes of electrical and mechanical malfunctions on equipment


Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in an electrical engineering role as well as superior abilities in customer relations and technical management. Candidates will use their experience as a PLC control systems designer and programmer to deliver top quality products and services, and must be in control of the projects that they work on.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in designing and programming industrial controls
  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD and EPLAN to design electrical controls schematics
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA and OSHA regulations
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects from start to finish as project leader
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good organizational and time managment skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel to customers’ sites is a must
